At the Selma Fire Department EMS Division, we are committed to providing the highest level of emergency medical services and transportation. Our team of highly trained and certified professionals are dedicated to delivering rapid, reliable, and compassionate care in critical situations. Whether it's responding to a 911 emergency, transporting patients to medical facilities, or offering community health education, we are here to serve you.


The Selma Fire Department EMS Division operates under the scope of the Central California Emergency Medical Services Agency (CCEMSA) and collaborates with neighboring agencies to provide services. 

Within the Selma Fire Department, we provide:

  • Emergency Response: Our 24/7 emergency response teams are always ready to respond to medical emergencies, accidents, and disasters with the urgency and expertise required to save lives.
  • Patient Transportation: We offer safe and reliable transportation to hospitals, specialized care centers, and other medical facilities, ensuring patients receive the care they need without delay.
  • Community Outreach: We believe in the power of prevention and education. Through community outreach programs, we provide CPR training, first aid courses, and public health education.

Our Team

Our team comprises experienced paramedics, and EMTs who are passionate about making a difference. Equipped with up-to-date technology and a deep commitment to service, they work tirelessly to provide the best possible care in every situation.

Our staff consists of 18 Paramedics, 10 EMTs and one EMS Supervisor. We staff three 24-hour ALS ambulances seven days a week. Each team consists of at least one Paramedic and one EMT.

Here are our emergency response metrics for the year 2023. These metrics consist of call volume for the year, call volume per day, and average response times. This data highlights trends and performance to better understand and improve emergency response capabilities.

Training

At the Selma Fire Department, we understand that excellence in emergency medical services starts with exceptional training. That's why we've developed robust in-house training programs designed to prepare our team members for the challenges they'll face in the field.

Tri-County Fire Med
Ambulance Membership Program 

As a Firemed member all eligible members of your household will receive emergency ambulance service throughout our service area. For only $65 a year, for our regular emergency ground transport. Your regular insurance may not cover all your expenses. with Firemed membership all your deductibles' copays and other costs are covered.

CPR/ACLS Class Schedule
The Selma Fire Department offers free CPR classes to the residents of Selma. The Selma Fire Department also offers BLS Provider CPR along with ACLS Provider Courses to outside providers in our area.
