K-9 Unit

The Selma Police Department K-9 unit consists of a supervisor, Sergeant Andrew Guzman and the following members:
            
              

                    Officer Zachary Shannon and K-9 "Jay".

Selma PD  K9 unit is a dual purpose apprehension narcotic and explosive detection K9, allowing them to be available to nearly all shifts.  The unit is also available to assist allied agencies when the need arises.
Properly used, the Police Service Dogs are the most effective and diverse tool known to police work.  The K9 unit has a long history or successful community service and officer protection.  The K9 unit remains committed to providing the citizens of Selma with a high level of service.
