Temporary Street Closure & Detour – Selma Safe Streets Tactical Urbanism Pilot Study Closure
Date: Tuesday, January 6, 2026
Location: Mitchell Avenue & Nebraska Avenue Intersection
The City of Selma will be implementing a temporary street closure at the intersection of Mitchell Avenue and Nebraska Avenue on January 6, 2026 as part of the Selma Safe Streets Tactical Urbanism Pilot Study. This project will test temporary safety and traffic-calming measures to improve walking, biking, and driving conditions in your neighborhood.
On this date, the intersection of Mitchell Ave & Nebraska Ave will be closed to through traffic. “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” signs and barricades will be placed on approaches to the intersection in accordance with the approved traffic control plan. Two signed detour routes will direct drivers around the closure using Rose Ave and Thompson St. Please follow all posted “Detour” and “Road Closed” signs and allow extra travel time when driving through the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve safety and mobility in your neighborhood.

La Ciudad de Selma llevará a cabo un cierre temporal de la calle en la intersección de Mitchell Avenue y Nebraska Avenue el 6 de Enero de 2026, como parte del Estudio Piloto de Urbanismo Táctico Selma Safe Streets. Este proyecto probará medidas temporales de seguridad y de calmado de tráfico para mejorar las condiciones para caminar, andar en bicicleta y manejar en su vecindario.
En esta fecha, la intersección de Mitchell Ave y Nebraska Ave estará cerrada al tráfico de paso. Se colocarán letreros de “Calle Cerrada al Tráfico de Paso” y barricadas en las aproximaciones a la intersección, de acuerdo con el plan de control de tráfico aprobado. Dos rutas de desvío señalizadas dirigirán a los conductores alrededor del cierre utilizando Rose Ave y Thompson St. Por favor, siga toda la señalización de “Desvío” y “Calle Cerrada” y considere tiempo extra de viaje al manejar por la zona.
