The Selma Police Department has arrested Nicholas Salazar, 48, of Selma, in connection with the homicide investigation that occurred early Saturday morning in the area of Logan Street and Cypress Street.

Saturday, at approximately 4:38 a.m., Selma Police Department officers responded to the area regarding a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim and began lifesaving measures. EMS transported her to Adventist Health Selma, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators determined the shooting followed a disturbance at a nearby residence. Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Salazar as the suspect and subsequently placed him under arrest.
